This is MY KL
A mural for WUF9
Mural and community engagement project for World Urban Forum (WUF9)
Pedestrian tunnel of Masjid Jamek LRT station
Part of the Arts on the Move programme by Think City and Rapid KL
The above is a walkthrough of the 200 feet mural
Just across the road from this mural, two rivers meet and form what is formally known as the starting point of Kuala Lumpur. This mural was commissioned in conjuction with the World Urban Forum 2018 (or WUF9), and tells the story of KL’S origins, from a humble, muddy estuary (kuala lumpur) to the glittering metropolis of today.
The mural was made in collaboration with Badan Warisan Malaysia, who provided information and resources on the historical aspects of KL's evolution, and photographer Kenny Loh, whose photos of KL gave vibrance and life to the project. The name of this project was inspired by the aviation code for KL city, KUL.

Aside from the main mural above, I also got to collaborate with artist Sanuri Zulkefli to create a community engagement project during WUF9, where we invited the public to join us in filling in the colours on a street mural.
