Since the start of the pandemic, we have collaborated on a few small initiatives where a portion of earnings were contributed to refugee families in need. As a refugee himself, Komeil understands only too well the struggles of the refugee community, especially during the lockdowns. Working directly with refugee-led organisations such as Parastoo and Refugee Emergency Fund, we know the money was channelled to immediate use. Handing over the aid to each family, Saleh of Parastoo would tell them, 'this came from one of our own'.
