Coming together to celebrate our differences
Confluence Festival

Over 120 ethnic groups call Malaysia home and 134 languages are spoken in Kuala Lumpur. When we come together as one people, things can only get better.

As part of KUL Design Month 2018, ThinkCity organised the Confluence Festival, held at the historic Medan Pasar (Central Square) where the urban development of Kuala Lumpur began and at 2HK, an adjacent heritage building.

The aim of the Festival was to celebrate Kuala Lumpur's diversity, and to help break down the barriers between urban residents, migrant workers and refugees who make KL home. There were multicultural performances, food kiosks, and a film festival. Films were curated to appeal to the migrant worker communities from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, and the Philippines who live in the city, as well as to Malaysians who call Kuala Lumpur home.
